TRAIL TO TRIUMPH - ULTRA MARATHON VIRTUAL!
Trail to Triumph is a group of charitable people joining together to run an Ultra Marathon (250km) to raise much needed funds for people living with lung disease. Every dollar counts and by donating to Trail to Triumph you're helping build the awareness of lung disease and it’s severity to those affected.
The Trail to Triumph Journey, fondly known as ‘Tony’s Journey’ was created in memory of Tony Britton who lost his battle with Mesothelioma. A rare and currently incurable cancer caused by asbestos, his son Mat Britton has since founded ‘Trail to Triumph, an annual event which tackles the arduous terrain, running 250 kilometres, to commemorate the life of his dad and raise funds and awareness of Mesothelioma.

Sunday 8th SepSo, for the first time since 2018 (except 2020 for the SEQ Covid edition), Peta and I won't be going to Mackay for the Trail to Triumph weekend. That's not to say we won't be doing anything that weekend. I have entered as a TTT Virtual runner, so that means Peta will be support.
My goal is a little unrealistic as I set it at 250km, and I'm going to give it a red hot crack, but having to work Friday means I miss around 12 hours on day 1. Let's see how it goes. I'd be happy to get around 200km.
It's been a good week of training this week with just over 70km in the bank. The following weeks are going to be even bigger still. I'm still in training for Mum's run in December, but at the moment, my focus is on October and TTT weekend. This I will be running for her as well because when she was alive, she had a lung cancer removed from her middle lobe. Also for Grandad who also passed away from lung disease associated with asbestos.
