I will walk with my lantern because although my mum is no longer beside me, her light will always guide me. I walk in her memory and for all the families whose lives have been touched by lung cancer.
I’m taking part in the Shine a Light Lantern Walk on 15 November in memory of my mum. 💛
Lung cancer doesn’t discriminate, and Mum’s story is one of many that shows this. She had never smoked, yet by the time it was discovered, it was already stage 4. We sadly said goodbye to Mum last month, and it’s something no family should have to go through.
Watching someone you love go through something so cruel is heartbreaking, and it’s hard to put into words how much it affects the people who love them.
I want to take part in this walk to honour Mum, raise awareness that lung cancer doesn’t just affect smokers, and support research that could help other families in the future.
If you’re able to donate or share my fundraiser, I’d really appreciate it. 💛
