TRAIL TO TRIUMPH - ULTRA VIRTUAL MARATHON!

Those who know me know that I act for sufferers of asbestos and silica related lung diseases. The impact these conditions have on my clients and their families is nothing short of heart-breaking.

Over 2.5 days from 18 to 20 October, I will be participating in an Ultra Marathon (250km - or in my case, as far as I can!) hosted by "Trail to Triumph" to raise much needed funds for people living with Mesothelioma, an incurable asbestos-related cancer.

The Trail to Triumph Journey, fondly known as ‘Tony’s Journey’ was created in memory of Tony Britton who lost his battle with Mesothelioma. His son, Mat Britton, has since founded the annual event to commemorate the life of his dad and raise funds and awareness of Mesothelioma.

Not only is the cause close to my heart, but Tony was also a fellow Mackay local and contributed to our soccer community which my family was part of throughout my entire childhood and adolescence. He was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2014. In response to winning the award, Tony said "there's nothing more satisfying than helping people". That's something special.
