I will walk with my lantern because...
I was diagnosed in June 2026, joining the unlucky club of non-smoking Asian women with NSCLC. We are among the fastest growing segments of lung cancer cases and our genetic predisposition is understudied.Â
While most of my long history with the Lung Foundation has been through my own research career investigating the chronic lung disease Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, I now turn my efforts to battling lung cancer as a patient. Most recently, I am enrolled in a study to investigate lung cancer biomarkers in exhaled breath condensate which is collected in the machine seen in the attached image.Â
I have always been a positive person and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the discovery and development of new and improved diagnostic and treatment options for lung cancer. I hope you will join me in raising funds for research and patient advocacy.Â
