Shine a Light Walk Adelaide 2025

I will walk with my lantern because...I have a family member that’s been battling for sometime now and it’s been on my mind that I like to take part in the walk here in SA as they will take theirs up north.

Did you know lung cancer is Australia’s biggest cancer killer?
Research offers hope and your support helps keep hope alive for the 15,122 new Australians living with lung cancer. Together, we can help shine a light on lung cancer and fund groundbreaking research.
Every year, the Shine a Light campaign raises funds to brighten the future for Australians living with lung cancer. With your support, Lung Foundation Australia provides seed funding for the best and brightest researchers to undertake projects that support discoveries towards the prevention, management and cure of lung cancer. Scientific breakthroughs can take years to accomplish but every dollar makes a difference to the lives of people impacted by lung cancer. Alongside research, practical support is just as critical, so we empower people living with lung cancer to make informed choices about treatment and management, through Lung Foundation Australia's Lung Cancer Support Nurse service.
Where there is light, there is hope. Every dollar builds a brighter future for Australians diagnosed with lung cancer.
Join me in fundraising, donate or join a community walk today. You will make a difference.

A battle journey.

Wednesday 5th Nov
Where can I start? Knowing a number of people in my life that had passed away due to cancer any form of cancer has hit me in a different way to what what I feel now.  This time, it’s to do with family,  someone that I have rekindled a relationship since 2014.  Someone that I’ve known since I was a child I came into my life married my father helped me out the hardest times as a child, helped me understand my potential as an artist, someone who showed me the appreciation to Wine and Coffee.
2015 was the hardest part of my life when I received a phone call from my mother telling me to be calm, everything’s okay but to me having feelings on a different scale as an autistic person she tried to comfort me over the phone, it was hard. I’ve gone to visit her where they mum and dad were living. Just coming out of the operation and recovering in hospital, seeing her the way she was hit me so hard but didn’t know what to do or how to think. I just shrugged it off thinking she’s got this. And she did have this through all the battles as the cancer had gone come back and gone again and then back with her last stand going through hardest battle of her life, with strong spirit in the will to live, my mother warrior that I have never seen like ever before hanging into life with the most amazing and wonderful woman have know, and this is the reason why I’m doing this walk.

Thanks for reading, this is for Mum and all those who are going through the toughest battle of their life.
