In Memory of Noreen Fox

By Nick Fox Join Me

I'm fundraising for...

Did you know that seven million Australians – that is almost one in three people (31%) – live with a lung condition? Research offers hope and your support helps keep hope alive for Australians living with lung disease.

This September, Josh and I will be running 31kms each week to raise funds and awareness in memory of our grandmother Noreen Fox, who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis before passing away in September of last year.

With your support, Lung Foundation Australia provides seed funding for the best and brightest researchers to undertake projects that support discoveries towards the prevention, management and cure of lung disease. Scientific breakthroughs can take years to accomplish but every dollar makes a difference to the lives of people impacted by lung disease.

Where there is light, there is hope. Please support us and donate today. You will make a difference.

The Final Push

Tuesday 24th Sep
Well, we're into the final week now, and what an effort it's been. Both Josh and I made it through the City-Bay 12km on Sunday 15th and came away with our goal times of just over an hour each.

Soldiering on in the meantime, and we both have ~35 kms to dust off before the 30th. The finish line is in sight!!

Big thanks to everyone who has donated thus far. Would never have dreamed we'd have tipped over $1500 into this. It means a lot

Mikkeller First Saturday

Monday 9th Sep

The end of the first week (1/9 - 7/9)

Monday 9th Sep
Writing this up a bit late, to cap off week one of our efforts (and to prove we haven't combusted for our efforts).

Bloody hell, what a first week to kick this off. The support from friends and family has been incredible. Josh and I initially set out to raise $500 through this effort, and the fact we just about doubled it before taking the first steps means a lot. Thank you to those who have donated so far.

One thing Josh and I have learned this week is that 31kms a week, in between a 9-5 and everything else life throws at you is *a lot*. Not that this isn't a race, but we ended the week with 31.5 (Nick) and 29 (Josh) kms in the tank respectively. After a couple of rest days, we will get back into it into the lead up to City-Bay on Sunday. Both of us will be running the 12km. Both of us giving serious thought to taking leave from work the following day for the anticipated muscle "awareness" that's sure to develop.

Photo below is from Saturday afternoon, enjoying a few well-earned pints with the good folks of Mikkeller Running Club Adelaide Chapter.
