Shine a Light Walk La Perouse 2024

I will walk with my lantern because...

Did you know lung cancer is Australia’s most common cause of all cancer-related deaths.
Research offers hope and your support helps keep hope alive for the 15,122 new Australians living with lung cancer. Together, we can help shine a light on lung cancer and fund groundbreaking research.
Every year, the Shine a Light campaign raises funds to brighten the future for Australians living with lung cancer. With your support, Lung Foundation Australia provides seed funding for the best and brightest researchers to undertake projects that support discoveries towards the prevention, management and cure of lung cancer. Scientific breakthroughs can take years to accomplish but every dollar makes a difference to the lives of people impacted by lung cancer.
Where there is light, there is hope. Every dollar builds a brighter future for Australians diagnosed with lung cancer.
Join me in fundraising, donate or join a community walk today. You will make a difference.

Monday 28th Oct
Hi there. I've always loved the outdoors and adventuring. Over the past 15 years I've had many health challenges but have always managed to look on the bright side of life as there are so many others that are worse off. I've lost a few friends and family members to this disease and when I was diagnosed in 2022 I really just focused on the here and now as my main focus was my then 15 yr old daughter. Whilst going through treatment that appeared to be working, I got told I was pregnant with my 2nd child so I stopped treatment in order for a safe arrival for him. Unfortunately he passed from SIDS 4 days after birth last year although I was in remission. I've been isolating for quite awhile and decided I need to start trying to do things I love again so I thought what better way than to try and raise money for Lung cancer awareness month. No-one deserves a cancer diagnosis let alone a negative health scare. Life is about chance, so with every negative we should always try and find a positive.  Come join me for the walk this Fri 1st Nov or please donate what you can to support this opportunity to raise awareness and hopefully find a cure.
