My beautiful mum was diagnosed with lung cancer early this year, and had part of her lung removed. Thankfully they removed the whole mass and she is thriving now post surgery. She is one of the lucky ones - her cancer was caught accidentally, while having scanning done for her asthma. Most people with lung cancer are diagnosed much later and their  prognosis is much worse.
