I'm fundraising for Lung Cancer Research in loving memory of my Dad

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Australia, and in 2022, my family faced the heartbreaking reality of this disease when we lost my dad. This cause is deeply personal to me, and it fuels my commitment to making a difference.

Right now, there are over 15,122 Australians living with lung cancer, each facing their own battles. Together, we can help shine a light on lung cancer and fund groundbreaking research. Every year, the Shine a Light campaign raises funds to brighten the future for Australians living with lung cancer.

Your generous donations enable Lung Foundation Australia to provide crucial seed funding to innovative researchers who are dedicated to discovering new ways to prevent, manage, and ultimately cure lung cancer. While scientific breakthroughs may take time, every single dollar counts and can profoundly impact the lives of those fighting this illness.

Since 2023, I have been growing my hair for this purpose. Once I reach my fundraising goal, I will cut my hair in the hopes of donating to Sustainable Salons, where it will be transformed into wigs for those in need. It's a small gesture that represents a beacon of hope and support for others undergoing their own battles.

Im so sorry to hear that, Brett. Cancer is a terrible disease; my mum also had kidney cancer but was extremely lucky they removed it, they told her she had months to live but were wrong. Your incredibly right about raising awareness and education. I hope this helps. Also love the hair!
